Bucharest Pride, organized by the Accept Association, continues to stand as one of Romania’s most important LGBTQ+ events, celebrating equality, visibility, and community. The 2026 program is still to be announced, but based on past editions, attendees can expect another powerful and joyful celebration in Romania’s capital.
Bucharest Pride March
The highlight of the celebration is traditionally the Bucharest Pride March, which usually follows the iconic Victory Way toward Izvor Park, taking marchers from the Government building to the Romanian Parliament in a proud and visible display of solidarity and progress.

Pride Month in Bucharest: Events and Highlights
Beyond the flagship march, Bucharest Pride 2026 offers a month packed with events designed to celebrate, educate, and empower the community. Visitors can expect art exhibitions highlighting LGBTQ+ voices, film screenings showcasing queer stories, debates tackling current social issues, and workshops that create spaces for learning and community building. A series of parties throughout the city will also keep the energy high, blending celebration with activism in true Pride tradition. Whether attending for advocacy, art, culture, or celebration, Bucharest Pride 2026 invites everyone to be part of this historic moment.

21 Years of Bucharest Pride
The story of Bucharest Pride began in 2005, just a few years after Romania decriminalized homosexuality and during its final steps toward joining the European Union. Against a backdrop of political resistance and extremist threats, a few hundred brave individuals took to the streets for the country's first LGBTQ+ public march. Despite facing hostility from local authorities and widespread societal prejudice, their courage marked the start of a new era for LGBTQ+ visibility in Romania. That first march laid the foundation for a growing and resilient movement that, twenty years later, continues to fight for full equality and dignity for every LGBTQ+ citizen.
Today, Bucharest Pride stands as Romania’s largest civic demonstration. In 2025, during the 20th anniversary of the event, 30,000 people marched through the capital, sending a clear and powerful message: the community is ready for love, equality, recognition, and protection.
