Le Meridien Bangkok

This was our first trip to Bangkok and if/when we return, we will stay here. Bathroom was luxurious and the breakfast was very impressive. The location is PERFECTLY close to the gay bar/club scene. This was especially important as transportation in Bangkok can be difficult. Taxis will refuse to take you places and will only take you if they can scam you for quadr/quintuple the price. Staying at the Le Meridien, you don't have to worry about that. Every place is walking distance. The hotel is gay friendly, clean, and well-appointed. The gym and pool were outstanding as well.

This is my third visit to Bangkok and I've stayed here all three times. It's a decent enough hotel, clean rooms (you do detect an odor in some hallways) and a great staff. I would recommend this hotel if it's your first visit and you want to check out the "gay scene", in that the location is perfect for walking around to the different bars/clubs. Especially if you don't speak the language and are a bit hesitant with navigating this vast city. You are surrounded by a tad seedy environment though, ping pong shows galore and a club called "Super Puss". But overall I feel pretty safe walking around the neighborhood. Great foot massages next door with a Starbucks and 7/11 within feet of the hotel. 5 star, probably not...but good value for what you pay.

The hotel seems to have been updated since the last reviewer wrote their comments. This was a lovely hotel that seemed well kept. The staff were all very nice. WiFi was free for my stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious.
