The Kings

Cardiff gay scene has decreased over the last decade. The Kings although not always situated in this area has always been a gay go to bar. Living in Cardiff has given me the option of going to a gay bar and feeling totally comfortable in my own skin, gay bi trans straight, all always welcome love the smiles, dancing and fab chats! After enjoying 20 years of Cardiff gay clubs I had a gutting experience. Tonight myself (although I was okay according to the security guard) and my partner were escorted out of the kings for being too drunk). Long story short my partner grabbed and necked a ‘yager’ bomb off a tray, the ones they try to make an extra few quid off. She tried to pay by card which wasn’t an option, so I paid for it with cash none the less we were escorted out. We had been dancing on stage with a group of lovely ladies & unless I’m mistaken we were not bothering anyone, to be honest it was pretty embarrassing and really uncalled for. To be fair the numerous people we spoke to this evening were fab, but for some reason we were targeted and made to feel unwelcome. If you are the type of person whose face doesn’t fit AVOID this place. I love Cardiff with a passion. The gay scene has always been great EXIT, CLUB X detox, DNA WOW, GOLDEN, the real Kings, always made EVERYONE welcome in 20 years I’ve never had one issue. Tonight was such a disappointment. To be kicked out of a gay club takes some doing and our behavior really didn’t warrant it. SAD SAD SAD.
