The FOX is a long-standing gay bar in Birmingham’s Gay Village with a strong following in the lesbian community and a warm welcome for all. Set in a traditional Victorian pub, it blends classic charm with plenty of fun; expect DJs, karaoke, a dedicated pool room, and a lively crowd.

The outdoor seating area is popular in good weather, and the staff, including the hands-on owner, keep things friendly and down-to-earth.

Eden Bar is a popular gay venue in Birmingham’s Gay Village, now located on the corner of Sherlock Street and Gooch Street. Following a major refurbishment in 2025, the new space spans two floors with three bars, a rear chill-out room, a garden, and a large rooftop terrace.

Inside, you’ll find a pool table, pinball machine, photo booth, and regular live entertainment including drag performances, themed events, and community nights. Drinks are competitively priced, and the atmosphere is welcoming.

Formerly known as 'Angels', Sidewalk is a large Gay Village bar & restaurant on Hurst Street. This recently renovated space now has a cool San Francisco warehouse feel.

The Sidewalk bar & restaurant extends over two levels and hosts various themed nights. Open late on weekends.

The Fountain Inn is a long-running gay bar just off Hurst Street in Birmingham’s Gay Village. Inside, you’ll find three distinct zones: a lively front bar, a pool lounge, and a men-only cruise area tucked away at the back. There’s also a garden with a covered smoking area.

Weekly events keep things fun and varied with free pool on Wednesdays, a DJ on Fridays spinning funky crowd-pleasers, and bad karaoke with cheeseboards on Sundays.

The Fountain is also a small hotel and one of the few places to stay within the Gay Village itself.
